logwatch: know when something goes wrong…

Today I was talking with some friends about the Gandi hosting and we went to talk about logwatch. It’s a tool that will monitor your server’s logs and email the administrator a digest on a daily basis.

Typical info includes who logged on your machine, disk usage, mail server usage.

Back home, I ‘ve installed it together with logrotate to regularly rename, compress then delete old logs.
